Andrew McCullen

Supervising BK Attorney

Biography

Andrew McCullen has been The Semrad Law Firm for a year and a half now. As a Supervising BK Attorney in Atlanta, GA. He has been in bankruptcy law since 2011. He first worked at Clark and Washington as a paralegal for 5 years including while he worked his way through law school at Georgia State University. His time as a paralegal was immeasurably valuable and the things he learned during that time have a lot to do with what sets him apart from other bankruptcy attorneys. After graduation, he was lucky enough to get an offer to remain at C&W as an attorney and got some wonderful experience representing Debtor’s in Chapter 7's and Chapter 13's. After about a year and a half he received an offer from Aldridge Pite to represent mortgage lenders as creditors in bankruptcy and he worked there for 4 years at which point he came here to return to represent Debtor's and be one of the "good guys" again. His experience on the Creditors side of things gave him a unique insight into bankruptcy practice. Mr. Mc Cullen has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia in English with focuses on English language studies and Shakespearean literature and a minor in Linguistics focusing on psycholinguistics and the acquisition of language. He received his J.D. from Georgia State University where he participated in the Bankruptcy Assistance and Practice Program clinic, or BAPP for 3 semesters. Unlike many practitioners, he did not find his way to bankruptcy law by accident. Rather, he had a focus on bankruptcy law throughout his time in law school.

I became disabled and my financial situation became dire and I have tried for two years to file for either a manageable chapter 13 or chapter 7. I have wasted thousands of dollars I do not have on lawyers who didn’t understand my complex case or trustee payments with a trustee who also seemed to disregard my situation. My experience with Debtstoppers was PAINLESS. My meeting with a new trustee took two minutes and my much needed chapter 7 was approved. I’m also on a payment plan for the chapter 7 payments so I didn’t have to pay the cost up front. I am so relieved and incredibly happy. I was hesitant to use a “big” law firm but I couldn’t have asked for a more seamless or better outcome. Highly recommend.

Debt stoppers came at a time when I was trying to figure out my options. When I finally made the decision, Marcie was very polite and very informative. The information she explained to me was the best news I could ever ask for. She listened and gave me the feeling that I did have options. The response to activity beginning the process was made quickly. When I say the support that I received allowed me to have a good night's rest, I can say I feel like I’m in good hands.

They made this process effortless for me. All of my questions were answered, and it literally took one day for me to provide all documents, complete the online course, and have my case filed. I highly recommend them.
